PCYC Cessnock: Empowering Youth Through Sport, Fitness & Community Engagement
CYC Cessnock is a dynamic, state-of-the-art community hub located in the heart of Cessnock, NSW. As part of the Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) NSW network, this facility is dedicated to empowering young people through a diverse range of recreational, educational, and leadership programs. With a strong focus on inclusivity and community partnership, PCYC Cessnock offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals of all ages to engage in physical activity, develop new skills, and build lasting relationships.
Facilities and Programs
PCYC Cessnock boasts an impressive array of facilities and programs designed to cater to a wide range of interests and abilities:
Indoor Rock Climbing Wall: An 18-metre-high climbing wall, one of the tallest in the state, providing challenges for climbers of all skill levels.
Indoor Skate Park: The only PCYC in NSW featuring an indoor skate park, offering a safe space for skateboarding enthusiasts to practice and improve their skills.
Gymnastics Facilities: A 1,100 sqm gymnastics room equipped with the latest apparatus, hosting popular gymnastics competitions in the Hunter region.
Adventure Play Area: A dedicated space for children under 12 years, promoting active play in a supervised setting.
Fitness and Weights Room: A well-equipped gym catering to various fitness levels and goals.
Group Fitness Classes: Including over 55s fitness programs, boxing classes, and sports aerobics, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
Creative Arts Programs: Offering music lessons, creative arts, and LEGO classes to nurture creativity and self-expression.
Court Sports: Facilities for netball, futsal, and table tennis, encouraging team play and physical activity.
Driving Programs: Including the Safer Drivers Course, Traffic Offenders Intervention Program, and the DLAP, aimed at promoting road safety and responsible driving habits.

In addition to these offerings, PCYC Cessnock delivers recreational activities to approximately 1,500 children each week through partnerships with 14 local schools, either at the club or on school premises.
