tools to support your journey

We are about more than just health insurance – we also support access to a range of healthy lifestyle programs, health management programs and chronic disease management programs to our members with eligible cover. These programs are designed to help our members feel well, stay well and live well.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle starts
with access to the right tools and knowledge.

To support our member’s health journey, we have collated resources that provide individuals with fitness plans and comprehensive nutritional advice designed to meet diverse goals, from weight management to muscle building, improved endurance, or overall well-being. Whether you’re a beginner taking your first steps toward fitness, an athlete seeking to optimise performance, or exploring better dietary habits, there are programs and guides to suit every need.

Heart Health Checks

Do you know what your risk of having a heart attack or stroke is? Having a regular Heart Health Check with your GP will help you better understand your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
1.4 million Australians have a high chance of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years. Many are unaware of this risk.

Anyone 45 years and over or 30 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should have a regular Heart Health Check with their doctor. A Heart Health Check is a 20-minute check-up with your GP to assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Since April 2019, Heart Health Checks have been covered by Medicare and are free at practices that bulk bill this service.

A Word from Our Members

As the Hunter’s first not-for-profit health insurer, we started by serving those in the community most in need — miners and their families.
